Trappers of Starved Rock held a Rendezvous and shooting matches at the Luxenhaus Farm on Highway O, Marthasville, Mo. These pictures were taken there this past spring.

2007

A small camp of club members starting a new season. It rained most of Saturday and not much happened. The men stayed close to their lodges. Sunday dried off and some shooting took place.

The women were smart and stayed home.

When a storm comes through, a camp can be in trouble. And if it comes in at night, a mountain man could wake up cold and wet.

Keeping the fires going, to keep warm and cook meals, is a challenge when it rains.

Dressing warm and staying inside helps.

Also, keeping supplies dry is a must.

Having the right gun can improve ones marksmanship.

Years of practice doesn't hurt either.

When it rains at camp, the shooting range is a lonely place.
