Fort de Chartres is a stone fort located near the Mississippi River, located about five miles south of Red Bud, Illinois. Turn right on Highway 155, about 12 miles. It is a beautiful setting for an encampment, which are held on the first weekends of June and November. Flat landers (city folks) are always welcome.
